See how we took this small dormer space in the upstairs bedroom and made it super functional by adding a built-in bed with tons of storage. On top of that, we added texture, character, and coziness in this little nook with a rustic planked wall behind the bed and new lighting.
The dormer nook where the bed would be placed is approximately 10′ wide by 4′ deep.
We had enough room for an extra-long twin mattress and (2) 18″ stock kitchen cabinets with drawers
The cabinets were spaced away from the wall so the faces of the cabinets would be flush with the face of the bed platform.
Electrical outlets were added to both sides. The one on the left also has a built-in usb charger.
The sides were covered with 1/4″ luan.
